Impasse with EU over visa restrictions for musicians will have profoundly damaging impact on UK students
In a short debate in the House of Lords on 19th January, Lord Black, Chairman of the Royal College of Music, highlighted the impact the failure to agree visa entry requirements for UK musicians touring in the EU would have on music and performing arts students who will be "priced out of the market" by complex and costly visa requirements at a vital stage in their career. He urged the Government and the EU to get back to the negotiating table to "sort this out" in the interests, "above all else", of students.
